In recent years, environmental issues have always been increasingly alarming; since it is becoming crystal clear that pollution is severely damaging our home. Since then, thousands of new initiatives have been launched to improve that problem, and OnlyBrush – a smart travel dental care kit – is one of them.

This is custom heading element

The social network is a platform where users share and update the information surrounding them. Therefore, every day, social networks contain billions of stories of many people from all over the world. Due to social network community influence, the problems of the environment are easily transmitted and strongly impact the actions of those who interact with that information.

Keywords

To update the latest or current trends, we just need to enter the relevant keywords on the accessible search pages. Recently, a series of electronic newspapers deliver information on the poor whale’s carcass that contains more than 40kg of nondegradable waste in its abdomen. The keywords like “dead whales”, “whale carcass”, etc. went viral.

As we search for those keywords, we will discover that the ocean waste problem not only happens to a whale but also affects a lot of them in the Philippines, Indonesia, Italy, etc. What we are seeing and reading every day regarding ocean plastic is just the tip of an iceberg, more terrible things are happening to the marine creatures as you are reading this post.

Hashtag

Also similar to the keyword, the hashtag is information written after the “#” sign that represents a topic. Hashtag users can be trendsetters, they can all join hands in tackling environmental issues.

For example, hashtags such as #environmentallyfriendly #climatechange are helping the environmental movement. The hashtags are used to express support, voice opinion.

Viral clip

Combining with the keywords and hashtag, videos and images are getting more attention. Therefore, when it comes to environmental issues, you can easily see a call-to-action video. Such as cleaning up a certain area or informing about the current state of the environment.

The more realistic the content of the images and videos, the more impression leave on the pollution situation. Thus, it will gather more audiences.

Let the numbers speak

A report on the level of plastic pollution released by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on June 12 warns that a bank card (equivalent to 5 grams of plastic) is put into each person’s body weekly. This problem arises from micro-plastic waste.

According to UNEP, about 300 million tons of plastic waste is created each year, of which 8 million tons float to the oceans, severely polluting the ocean and land.

In a meeting in France on March 27, the European Union recently voted to enact a law banning the use of disposable plastic before 2021. This is one of the outstanding ways to cut 91% of plastics that cannot be recycled. EU member states have also made claims to try to achieve the goal of collecting 90% of plastic bottles by 2029. Plastic bottles will have to contain at least 25% of the recycled content before 2025 and 30% before 2030.

Known as a technologically developed country; Japan, Tokyo aims to reduce 25% of plastic waste by 2030. And recycle or reuse 100% plastic waste by 2035, including materials used in electrical equipment and automotive parts.

The ban on disposable plastic bags by Australia’s two largest supermarket chains helped prevent 1.5 billion plastic bags from being released into the environment in less than half a year.

Currently, 80 countries around the world have issued similar bans on single-use plastic items to reduce the amount of plastic waste that pollutes the environment, contributing to protecting the world’s oceans according to United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Have the “giants” done anything for the environment?

Greenpeace organization urged technology giants to join hands-on environmental issues because their influence will help bring a significant improvement. Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon and other companies claim to use 100% renewable energy for their data centre.

It took only two years for Apple to shift from fossil energy to 100% clean energy completely.

In 2014, Google withdrew from the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) when ALEC denied the risk of post-crisis changes. Microsoft has done this since 2012.

OnlyBrush - a revolutionised and eco-friendly dental care product.

We created OnlyBrush – Nanotech Portable Smart Dental Kit.

Many hotels are even starting to phase out the single-use plastic toothbrush. With OnlyBrush, you can be part of the eco-friendly movement to save the earth.

Since one of OnlyBrush’s goals is to replace disposable products that are often used when traveling, the company has also made sure all electronic components are RoHS compliant to make the product as environmentally friendly as possible.
